Jenna and Fernando – A truly amazing wedding on the lake

Jenna and Fernando are two adorable people, who are really meant to be together. True soul mates! They live in Miami and have been a couple for many years. They’ve dreamt about an Italian style wedding on Lake Maggiore. The idea of getting married on the lake, with the beautiful background of the mountains and the magical atmosphere of an ancient Villa sounded too good to be true. Alas, it was their dream.

They were wondering where/how to start when a friend gave them my name: “She is an American wedding planner based in Venice” he said. “EMA planned our wedding in Venice. I am sure she will be able to do the same for you on the Lake!”

It must have been destiny, because I was about leaving for Miami for a short vacation.

Once we met, at Jenna’s parents beautiful house in Miami, they shared with me their vision or, shall we say, their dream.

Though Jenna and Fernando were unable to explain exactly what they wanted, never having been to a wedding of this type, I could get a sense of what they had in mind and once back to Italy, I found the most perfect place to make their dream come true…Villa Claudia Dal Pozzo on Lake Maggiore!

Villa Claudia Dal Pozzo is an ancient Villa, still belonging to the Marquis Dal Pozzo. It was this Villa where Jenna and Fernando, their parents and siblings experienced the exclusivity of the most special stay.

They spent 5 days enjoying each other’s company and the breathtaking views over the Lake.

The luxury Villa and the landscape definitely inspired us: but the happiness of the couple and their families made our job effortless!Their Rehearsal Dinner was held on the famous “Piroscafo Piemonte”, an authentic steamship built in 1904. The historical ship navigated the waters of Lake Maggiore on a stunning summers eve.  The sunset was magnificent and the full moon that night was simply PERFECT!  Everything was absolutely magical.

Jenna and Fernando’s dream wedding was created by a wonderful team: together with Simona Silvestri we crafted an exceptionally beautiful scenario on the terrace of the panoramic garden overlooking the lake.

Here a little extract of the backstage!

The bride and groom lovingly stood under an exquisite arch of local flowers. Paloma, the groom’s sister officiated, 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen made a perfect picture! The color palette was blue, gold and ivory. The bride walked down the aisle with the music of a hundred years played on harp & cello.

The cocktail toast next to the swimming pool was very appreciated: there was even a local

cheese-maker! Everyone got crazy about hand made mozzarella!Kenn Bayley – the famous saxophone player, together with his band entertained the guests for hours, celebrating late into the night. Dinner was served in the main reception room of the Villa which was decorated with original Italian paintings and sculptures, elegant fixtures and antique furniture.  Guests had the feeling of being transported back to an ancient era.

The happily married newlyweds on the lake, mountains in the background-surrounded by their loved ones, laughing, dancing, singing. The golden hues of light reflecting off the lake, the gentle sway of Jenna’s dress as the evening breeze blew by. The divine meals gorgeously presented on fine Italian porcelain, the sparkling bubbles in the Prosecco toast as they rise to the top of the glistening crystal flutes amidst stunning and colorful floral arrangements. The couple’s private moments together, tender kisses, gentle laughter…the splendor of love in Italy captured adoringly on film!

Everyone we spoke with kept on saying; “Best, most beautiful wedding ever!”

It was a real pleasure and honor for me to organize these precious moments of the most important day for this wonderful couple and their wonderful family.

After the wedding Jenna’s mum sent me this message: I was so touched…Thank you Susan. With all my heart.

Dear Ema,

I never imagined it could be so wonderful.  I never conceived that I would have fun, laugh and cry, and celebrate all night at my daughter’s wedding.  I was overjoyed seeing Jenna and Fern and all the family and friends having a blast and truly enjoying themselves at the amazing event you put together.  You figured out what Jenna and Fern wanted and made it all happen and then made it even more special in so many special ways that they didn’t even know they would like.  You translated their dream into reality and made it looked effortless—that is a testament to your experience and skill. And the VIDEO!!!!  I am speechless.  Alessandro Bordoni  is gifted and has given us a wonderful gift.  I don’t have words to thank you enough.

Susan

Alessandro Bordoni, my exceptional videographer beautifully portrayed this magic forever: I’m sure the couple is incredibly happy about the result of the video and I’m very proud to show you the amazing job done by Alessandro.
